Shirley Yeung is happily in love, but marriage is still not on the cards for Hong Kong actress Shirley Yeung, 31. Reports have romantically linked the bubbly, sweet-looking actress with ex-child actor Gregory Lee since 2004.
She told The New Paper: "I feel very comfortable about it. I am dating, and I don't want to hide it. Also, I think dating doesn't affect my work, and is separate from it. I'm very focused on my work. Anyway, I'm happy that audiences accept it [that I'm dating]."
However, she has no plans to get married. She explained: "I think society is more accepting of people who marry later."Although she remains coy about future plans, she waxed lyrical about her relationship: "We can support and comfort each other, when one of us is unhappy or frustrated."
Last month, Shirley was spotted having supper with Gregory around midnight in a dessert shop in Kowloon. Perhaps she shared with him her experience on the set of "The Silver Chamber of Sorrows", where she plays a kind-hearted servant girl who is later discovered to have a special connection to the family.
In particular, Shirley had to film a scene on a set with about 100 frogs, "some real, some fake". The actress, who has a phobia of frogs, said: "After completing those scenes, my voice was hoarse from screaming. My reaction was genuine." She added that she even wore extra layers under her clothing "to create more of a barrier" from the frogs.
"When I was little, my mother took me to a wet market. There, a man was slaughtering some frogs and the blood splashed onto me."
